About Us:

Jabiru Community Youth & Children's Services is a for-purpose social enterprise founded in 1986, which is centred on providing community support to children, young people, families and community members across greater Brisbane.

As an organisation, we not only deliver school-age care, we engage with a range of educational-based communities, including delivering student support services, employment and training programs. We genuinely know the challenges of working within the educational ecosystem, including curriculum development, recreational activities, social and emotional support for children and families, and working within Education Queensland systems and structures.

About the Role:

Jabiru is entering an exciting period of growth and we have a brand new role opportunity available for an internal Policy Writer to help develop a range of policies across all Jabiru departments.

Role Details:

  • This role is located at Jabiru’s Head Office located in Northern Brisbane suburb, Bracken Ridge.
  • This role is a temporary full-time (38 hours per week – working Monday to Friday). This is a fixed term contract starting as soon as possible and concluding on the 30th of June 2022.
  • This role will fall under the Social, Community, Home Care, Disability Services Industry Award 2010 and will be a Classification Level 5.

In this role you will report to the General Manager People, Quality and Risk and be an essential member of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer team. You will:

  • Provide high level policy support with and emphasis on ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulatory bodies
  • Contribute to continually monitoring and maintaining quality assurance and continuous improvement processes in compliance with applicable standards and legislative frameworks
  • Regularly monitor, review and update policy and procedures

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, human services, public policy or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in organisational policy development and quality assurance, and/or compliance processes
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills complimented with initiative and enthusiasm
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer literacy, with a sound working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Industry experience is desirable
