About the organisation

Jesuit Social Services is a social change organisation working to build a just society where all people can live to their full potential.

Since 1977, we’ve provided services in some of the most disadvantaged in our community.

We place a high priority on advocacy and are a leader in policy development and research.

About the program

Jesuit Social Services has a history of investing in programs to support people to transition into education, training and jobs.

Both experience and research tells us that one of the most reliable pathways out of disadvantage and most effective ways of connecting with the broader community is through employment.

The Jobs Victoria Employment Network (JVEN) is the Victorian Government's major activity to help disadvantaged Victorian jobseekers gain employment.

JVEN services are delivered by specialist employment experts who work closely with employers to identify job opportunities and prepare job seekers for those roles.

About the role

As a JVEN Employment Broker, you will be responsible for initiating, expanding and strengthening employer relationships to meet Jobs Victoria Employment Network (JVEN) work placements and employment initiatives.

You will be responsible for ascertaining employer needs, pre-screening suitable applicants and providing post placement support to employers, as required

This is a contract role until the 31st of July 2021, based at Collingwood, with travel to other sites, as needed.

An attractive salary, plus superannuation and salary packaging is offered, together with ongoing professional and career development.

  • The ability to successfully communicate, liaise and network with employers to identify vacancies and to develop ongoing service relationships and partnerships.
  • Proven success in achieving employment outcomes for disadvantaged Victorian jobseekers
  • Demonstrated experience (or capacity) to improve job-readiness of disadvantaged Victorian jobseekers into employment
