Job description:

To undertake high level proof reading, editing and formatting in the production of operational and other reports that will promote Integrity Commission Tasmania’s objectives and programs.

Period of Appointment

This appointment is for a fixed-term period of 3 years

Hours per fortnight

14.70 hours per fortnight (2 days per fortnight)

Duties

  • Edit operational and other reports, including assessment, investigation, and research reports. This includes advising on and translating complex or legal information into plain language; ensuring the style is appropriate to the specific audience; correcting grammar and structure; ensuring reports are logical; ensuring there is evidence to support the findings and recommendations.
  • Perform high-level editing and proofreading and perform a quality control function, ensuring accuracy and consistency in content and presentation.
  • Using our complaints management database, collate reference documents and into an accessible PDF for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure accessibility of documents and compliance with WCAG 2.0 requirements.
  • Ensure reports comply with the Integrity Commission Style Guide, the Australian Guide to Legal Citation, and other guidelines.
  • Collate together and rewrite multiple reports into a single report that is suitable for public consumption.
  • Design Word templates and fix formatting in reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality in relation to their work for the Commission.
  • As required from time to time, perform other tasks relevant to the skills and experience of the position classification.

Essential Requirements

The successful appointee must satisfy:

  • A security vetting process to obtain Baseline security clearance (access to classified information and resources up to and including PROTECTED). This process requires the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency to collect personal information to assess suitability.
  • A pre-employment check on any disciplinary or managerial action in any previous employment.
  • Identification check.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working on legal publications.
  • Experience working in a confidential environment.
