This is a unique opportunity to work in an exceptional women's health organisation - making a positive and critical difference in women's lives. We are seeking an applicant with relevant qualifications and minimum 5 years experience in senior management, for a full-time permanent position who will deliver high impact outcomes, guided by our strategic plan.

This includes responsibility for whole of Centre team management; oversight of program and service delivery, overall financial management of the Centre; identification, establishment, and development of high-level strategic partnerships; new business development; and public advocacy and strategic lobbying for structural and cultural change that will result in improved health outcomes for women.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential

  • Appropriate qualifications, or training and demonstrated experience in community development and/or public health.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of the patriarchy, social determinants of health impacts, gendered-based violence and abuse on women.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate values and strategy into operations.
  • Demonstrated alignment of values with the Illawarra Women Health Centre and understanding of, and commitment to, feminist leadership.
  • At least five years of demonstrated success in a collaborative leadership position, including responsibilities such as idea generation and implementation, strategic design and implementation, creation and maintenance of a healthy and motivating work environment, income generation, operational compliance, staff and budget management and external representation.
  • Demonstrated success in advocacy and lobbying.

Desirable

  • Experience in policy development and implementation.
  • Post-graduate qualifications in health and/or management.
  • Fluency in a community language other than English
  • Experience working in feminist, not-for-profit organisations and/or social enterprises.

You must have a current NSW Drivers Licence, National Criminal Record Check, a Working with Children Police Check*, and be fully vaccinated (and maintain full vaccination status) for COVID-19.

The successful applicant will be offered permanent contract starting immediately. A remuneration package commensurate with professional experience will be offered, based on the SCHADS Award. The Illawarra Women's Health Centre is a union supporting workplace.
