About AIGCC

The Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) is an initiative to create awareness and encourage action among Asia’s asset owners and financial institutions about the risks and opportunities associated with climate change and low carbon investing. AIGCC provides capacity for investors to share best practice and to collaborate on investment activity, credit analysis, risk management, engagement, and policy. With a strong international profile and significant network, AIGCC represents the Asian investor perspective in the evolving global discussions on climate change and the transition to a greener economy. AIGCC has investor members from 11 markets and with over USD 39 trillion in assets under management.

We are seeking an experienced climate or energy policy, ESG, shareholder engagement, or corporate sustainability professional to engage with investors, corporates, and policymakers in China on climate action. This workstream will support building domestic investor capacity to understand the risks and opportunities related climate, to support develop their risk management process, investment policies and corporate and policy engagement programs.

This role will be responsible for building domestic investor capacity to understand the risks and opportunities related climate, to support develop their risk management process, investment policies and corporate and policy engagement programs.

Specific duties include:

  • Investor engagement – Build AIGCC’s domestic investor member base in China by actively seeking out potential members and introducing them to AIGCC’s work
  • Policy engagement – Supporting AIGCC’s policy team to identify key policy priorities and engagement opportunities for investors with policymakers in China, support the implementation of state-owned enterprise engagement strategy through stakeholder outreach from within the SOE ecosystem.
  • Corporate engagement – Supporting investors to effectively engage with China-based companies through initiatives which include Climate Action 100+ and AIGCC’s Asian Utilities Engagement Program (AUEP), establishing guidance for engagement and systems to monitor progress
  • Progress Reporting – Monitoring and reporting on the outputs and impact of AIGCC’s China work program to its members and funders
  • Research – Identifying and delivering relevant research projects, working with consultants and other stakeholders to advance the China program
  • Communication and collaboration – Liaising with the communications team on content for communications outputs
  • Collaborating across AIGCC teams and with other AIGCC initiatives as required
