The Opportunity
Join a large team of qualified, motivated health promoters working with settings across the inner east of Melbourne. AccessHC works with partners including local government, PCPs, Women’s Health Services and other community organisations to address health promotion priorities which include increasing social inclusion and the prevention of violence against women. This role is 0.8-1.0 FTE, commencing in early 2019 and giving the ideal candidate the flexibility to smoothly transition into full time hours. The role will based across our Ashburton, Doncaster East and Hawthorn sites.
Responsibilities
- Implement health promotion programs within community settings
- Lead a focus-area of work for colleagues in a defined priority or community setting
- Establish and foster partnerships with like-minded agencies
- Develop and support local-level advocacy
- Identify and apply for funding opportunities to grow our work
- Contribute to planning and reporting activity
Skills & Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion, Public Health or other relevant discipline
- Eligibility for registration as an IUHPE Registered Health Promotion Practitioner
- Two years post-university experience in Health Promotion or Community Development
- Experience working in Integrated Health Promotion highly regarded
- Demonstrated capacity to apply principles of Health Literacy and Community Engagement within day-to-day work
- Demonstrated experience applying principles of quality improvement
