OVERVIEW

We have a new opportunity for a personal assistant to join our team! Your role will be supporting our program manager, assisting in the smooth running of the organisation and team, coordinating a range of operational activities, functions and high level administrative support.

ABOUT US

ID. Know Yourself is a non-for-profit that was Founded by Isaiah Dawe who has had first hand experience growing up in the foster system. We are a hands on, inclusive and passionate organisation full of people who are committed to creating real change. The aim is to fill the gaps for our young people by providing love, consistency and holistic support that gives young people living in out of home care the chance to establish belonging, purpose and empowerment.

THE ROLE

This is a diverse hands on role with no day the same! Day to day duties vary but you general daily duties will include:

  • Providing day to day administrative support to Program Manager and team where required.
  • Liaising with group facilitators and internal and external stakeholders on behalf of Program Manager.
  • Diary, document and calendar management and follow up where required.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects as required (Reports, surveys, proposals, project templates, policies).
  • Maintain current filing and database systems.
  • Organising meetings and booking meeting rooms.
  • Producing reports and presentations.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of matters coming into and out of the organisation.

This is a part-time hybrid working role, a mix between our offices located in the CBD and at home one day a week, with opportunity to increase over time.

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

  • Experience in administration support +2 years.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal peoples, their culture and communities.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the issues facing Aboriginal communities and young people, trauma and the intergenerational affect.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated abilities in managing complex diaries.
  • High level of initiative with the capability to think ahead and anticipate as well as prioritising issues and tasks.
  • Professional and solutions-focused approach to work with the flexibility to accommodate shifting priorities.
  • Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ability to work autonomously exercising sound judgement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite.
  • Open and transparent communication.
  • Ability to take on feedback proactively.
  • Being adaptable and responsive to unplanned challenges.
  • Full driver’s license preferred but not essential.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

You will be working with an energetic passionate team committed to our young people and mission. The role will be working from our shared office space in the city which is open planned, plenty of meeting rooms, phone booths and complimentary snacks, drinks, breakfast, and lunch provided each day. Our culture is inclusive, open, and appreciative of everyone’s ideas and contributions. Your role will include both in person and virtual meetings and workshops.
