ABOUT THE ROLE

As Team Leader of the Embark program, you will oversee the quality execution of key program deliverables, leading a team of NDIS Navigators to engage with people who are experiencing homelessness and their networks, supporting them through submission of successful NDIS applications. Embark provides support at an individual and sector level, through delivery of two streams:

Embark Access – supporting individual access requests; and

Embark Upskill – Delivering sector capacity building workshops to service providers across NSW.

This is a full time opportunity is for 5 days per week until 30 June 2024, with the possibility of extension pending funding. The role is based from our Surry Hills office, with some opportunity to work flexibly from home, and remuneration is from $93,860 (SCHADS Level 5), plus leave loading, super and salary packaging.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of NDIS Navigators providing direct supervision and fostering engagement and accountability
  • Coordinating regular team meetings and fostering a learning culture through regular coaching sessions and feedback to staff
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and contributing to relevant sector meeting and networks
  • Overseeing the implementation of the project to successfully achieve key deliverables
  • Managing program intake and case allocation
  • Engaging with consumers and their support network to support preparation and submission of persuasive NDIS Access Request Forms
  • Developing, facilitating and evaluating delivery of capacity building workshops for the sector
  • Preparing reports and maintaining quality data collection in collaboration with the Senior Manager
  • Maintaining current understanding of the NDIS, developing the team and project activities in line with NDIS changing standards

ABOUT YOU

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in Community Services or equivalent
  • Experience working with homelessness and/or people who live with a psychosocial disability
  • Experience with effectively engaging & managing a small team
  • Persuasive written, verbal & interpersonal advocacy skills & strong stakeholder management
  • Proven experience adapting & managing competing priorities to achieve set targets (e.g. KPIs)
  • Solution & growth mindset with a quality & continuous improvement
  • Experience effectively applying a person centred, strengths based and trauma informed approach
  • Proven track record in project management
  • Demonstrated & detailed understanding of NDIS processes
  • Demonstrated workshop/group facilitation skills
  • NDIS Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current NSW Driver's License

Desirable:

  • NDIS Application Experience
  • Ability to travel across Sydney and within NSW if required
