Your new role:

We are seeking an experienced Accountant on a full-time permanent basis to join our Finance and Procurement team. The Accountant is responsible for budgeting, coordination and preparation of monthly management reports and financial statements. The incumbent will have experience providing financial services within a similar environment and be able to demonstrate knowledge in areas such as financial and management accounting.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and disseminate monthly Finance reports and assist with preparation of annual financial statements and accompanying notes
  • Advise on and explain financial concepts, ideas and issues to stakeholders as required
  • Complete all general accounting tasks required for month and financial year end process
  • Promote and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and delivery of projects designed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency in accordance with the Finance and Procurement charter of services

Our requirements / Your skill set:

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related discipline
  • Membership or studying towards accreditation with CPA Australia or CA ANZ

At interview stage you will be required to confirm your current vaccination status. Prior to receiving an offer of employment with the department, you will need to provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 with three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Prior to commencement of employment with IBAC you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status (three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine).

Acceptable evidence includes:

  • COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
  • Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
