Volunteer Coordinator - People & Culture

Working within a small People and Culture team, you will be responsible for the supporting the Hutt St Centre volunteer program, which is integral to our successful operation and service delivery.

How you will make a difference

Day-to-day responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Volunteer recruitment, including facilitating information sessions and working with managers to ascertain volunteer needs.
  • Coordinating the monthly volunteer rosters and ensuring sufficient volunteer coverage for each shift.
  • Key point of contact for all volunteer enquiries, ensuring timely responses are provided.
  • Maintain volunteer records, including compliance and tracking service awards.
  • Ensuring key messages are communicated with the volunteer workforce through Better Impact, newsletters and volunteer reference group.

In addition, you will support the People & Culture Manager with recruitment, training, general HR administration tasks and project-related work for our employee group.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need experience working within a HR role or experience working with a volunteer workforce. This is a busy role that will require you to work across multiple things at any given time, so strong time management skills and a flexible approach to your work will be key to your success.

You will love administration and understand the importance of compliance and confidentiality within the role. Experience using Better Impact or other volunteer management or HR software will be highly regarded.

You will be an enthusiastic and passionate advocate for the importance of volunteering, always looking for ways to improve the volunteering experience. You will be an effective and engaging communicator who excels at building and maintaining strong relationships with volunteers, colleagues and external stakeholders.

You must have, or be willing to obtain both a satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check. Due to the requirements of the role a valid driver’s licence will be required.
