The Australian Human Rights Commission (‘the Commission’) is seeking an APS 6 Policy Officer with strong quantitative data analysis and policy skills, and experience working within evaluation frameworks, to join the Knowledge Management Unit.

In 2022, the Commission created a Knowledge Management Unit to support the Australian Defence Force/Department of Defence (ADF), Australian Border Force (ABF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) partnerships. Through these partnerships, the Commission supports each partner to deliver cultural reform priorities, including inclusion, diversity and Respect@Work. This position will have primary focus on the ABF partnership but may work across the ADF and AFP partnerships.

The Commission entered into a five-year partnership with the ABF to promote diversity, social inclusion and a healthy workplace culture to promote enhanced capability.

Applicants will require:

• Experience and confidence to undertake social research and analysis and use quantitative data sets to generate evidence-based findings.
• Experience using statistical packages, such as Excel, SPSS, and / or, STATA to conduct quantitative data analysis.
• Written and oral communication skills, including an ability to translate complex data analysis into plain-English research findings.
• Experience in delivering policy products, including briefings and reports.
• Ability to contribute to team wide activities, prioritise competing demands and adapt to changing work environments.
• Ability to propose and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to business improvement strategies and innovative change in work practices.
• An understanding of organisational change, preferably with experience applying data analysis techniques to cultural reform projects or programs.

Salary $85,826 - $98,079 pa plus superannuation.
