The Digital Content Manager manages content strategy, web content governance, quality assurance, website maintenance and continuous improvement. They are also responsible for interpreting and analysing user data and industry trends, using the information to inform website and content improvements.
The role is responsible for leading and implementing the Commission’s Content Governance Framework, to bring consistency and a user centric approach to the Commission’s websites. The role is part of the Strategic Communications Team which supports eight Commissioners and their policy teams, as well as our statutory functions as a national human rights institution.
Duties
- Plan, strategise and lead continuous improvement of the Commission’s websites and subsidies, including working with our internal web developer and external vendors, and coordinating user testing.
- Develop, deliver and champion the Commission’s Content Governance Framework and long-term content strategy, in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
- Ensure our websites comply with brand guidelines, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 AA, and best practice on web content and usability; and provide mentoring to the team on these aspects.
- Lead major web projects, such as website builds, rebuilds, subsite development and migrations; including oversight of tender processes and managing partnerships with external consultants.
- Lead stakeholder engagement across the Commission with respect to our website ecosystem and digital content including:
- Senior management to ensure that our purpose and strategic goals are brought to life on the website
- Commissioners and their policy teams to ensure their projects and term goals are clearly communicated and supported in our content and web strategy
- Internal teams such as Legal, National Information Service and Investigation and Conciliation Service, and Workplace and Community Education to ensure that information and content about our legislative functions is clear and accessible on our website.
- Lead and manage publication processes and collaborate across teams to plan for upcoming publications and other website content to meet project deadlines.
- Facilitate, edit and publish quality web content, ensuring it is user-centred, explains complex information in plain English and aligns with the Commission’s brand and key messages.
- Support evaluation and continuous improvement of the Commission’s digital presence by reviewing and reporting on analytics and monitoring digital trends, including Google Analytics and analytics on social media platforms.
- Daily management of the Commission website to ensure that content is updated quickly and accurately.
- Manage a direct report (Drupal developer) and work together to ensure the website and any subsites are appropriately supported and maintained, and deal with any escalated concerns or issues and see them through to resolution.
- Deliver ongoing training and support to staff across the Commission in managing and uploading web content.
- Manage contact databases and contribute to ongoing improvements in systems for collecting and storing contacts data
