Hope Street Youth and Family Services Limited ("Hope Street") is a leading specialist in youth homelessness services in Victoria with over 40 years’ experience in delivering services to young people and young families in the western and northern growth corridors of Melbourne.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Project Northwest Z30 is an innovative early intervention platform delivering a place-based ‘community of schools and services’ (COSS). Project Northwest Z30 will comprise a collective of individuals from various organisations, contributing their expertise for the success of the program and success of empowering young people to remain engaged in education and diverted from homelessness. It is based on The Geelong Project which has been very successful.

This part time role will lead to the development of Project Northwest Z30 under the direction of the Northwest Z30 Executive Committee.

This role is responsible for the following project coordination functions:

  • Drive the implementation of Project Northwest Z30 
  • Develop a detailed project plan and develop linkage relationships with Northwest service provider, schools, business, and other services.
  • Develop program specific material and conduct presentation showcasing NWZ30 to key stakeholders and community 
  • Promote and support the delivery the project through the development and maintenance of positive, outcome-oriented partnerships with executive committee and across the wider stakeholder network
  • Program reporting requirements
  • Other projects and tasks as required

About you

  • You are an engaging individual with the ability to connect with community and drive a project. 
  • You have tertiary qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Family Therapy, Psychology, or closely related discipline 
  • You understand the youth homelessness service system and allied services.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a project coordination and leadership role in the provision based not-for-profit services
  • Project management experience, with the ability to scope, plan and implement projects within required timeframes and budgets
  • Proven ability to support collaborative effort within and across community based and government organisations
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Driver’s licence 
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, or other case management software with a capacity to maintain appropriate records and files. Specific skills in project planning tools are required

You can work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team and utilise the appropriate techniques to support your clients. You will also demonstrate the following:

  • Proven capability in the delivery of complex projects using project management methodology
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of continuous improvement and quality management principles
  • Sound knowledge of human resource and workplace health and safety compliance requirements
  • Innovative, proactive and solution focused
