HOPE has been a community service in Western Australia for over a century, providing much needed support to people affected by alcohol and other drugs, mental health, youth justice issues, family and domestic violence and socioeconomic disadvantage. Hope is the lead agency for headspace Kalgoorlie, an innovative and growing service working with young people in Kalgoorlie across the four streams of headspace centres being Mental Health, AOD, Physical and Sexual Health and Work and Study.
As the Mental Health Clinician, you will be required to hold a full case load in our headspace service whilst upholding clinical standards across the service with the Clinical Lead.
This will see you driving evidence-based clinical practice, assessment and treatment, auditing case files, all while adopting a continuous improvement approach!
The Mental Health Clinician also works collaboratively with the Manager to ensure that the services have an integrated approach to mental health, in line with best practice literature.
In this role you will be supporting the service in achieving and maintaining HMIF accreditation in conjunction with our centre managers and clinical leads.
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, who reflects and improves on their own practice. You will be adaptable, with the ability to work with mixed modality of therapeutic approaches, such as CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and trauma informed practice.
For a successful appointment you will be a qualified and registered mental health clinician with APA, AASW or APHRA (desired) or a counsellor who are eligible for registration as a Level 3 counsellor as per the Australian Counselling Association Scope of Practice Guidelines. Candidates who have specialist postgraduate qualification in relevant mental health clinical fields (eg Masters of Family Therapy, Masters of Addictive Behaviours) are also encouraged to apply. Having experience in the headspace model of care and HMIF (headspace model integrity framework) will be highly valued and will allow you to support services effectively.
Appointments will be subject to Australian residency/visa, satisfactory National Criminal Record checks, the Working With Children Check, records, Current C or A class driver's license, and suitable work referee.
