Job Description

Home Care Heroes is an innovative high growth tech startup tackling social isolation and loneliness by connecting people in need with passionate local Heroes who are companions, mentors, big brothers and big sisters.

The Role

Are you an outgoing and genuine people person who loves to build connections? Do people naturally flock to you? Do you achieve results and are motivated by achieving and exceeding targets?

We're looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. You will be our on the ground presence, embodying our values, mission and setting us out from the crowd. This is a rare opportunity to become a critical member of a rapidly growing, socially driven tech startup.

Your role will include:

  1. Community engagement
    1. Working closely with the team to prioritise regions in line with growth strategy and demand and supply
    2. Implement strategies to build our community, drive revenue and ultimately business growth
    3. Develop and engage networks to drive growth and increase retention
    4. Build relationships with organisations and community groups to achieve commercial objectives and KPIs
    5. Showcase and represent us at expos, forums and events
    6. Run Hero induction sessions, inspiring more people to join us
    7. Create content by telling the stories (video, photos and blogs) of people in our community
    8. Variety of secondary projects for the business including social impact measurement and running local events and activities
  2. Youth Employment Innovation Challenge
    1. We are part of the NSW Department of Industry's YEIC to engage more young people in the workforce, as Heroes. You will be a driving force in coordinating this program and become an advocate for the NEET (not in employment, education or training) cohort
    2. Attract NEET Heroes through community engagement
    3. Coordinate, track and report on the progress of the YEIC program

This role will be based in Newcastle – partly on the road and from home. Monday's at our office in Surry Hills.

Skills and experience

You need to be tenacious, an innate hustler and natural networker with the following skills:

  • An outgoing personality and exceptional communication skills
  • Industry experienced NOT REQUIRED but is highly valued
  • Would suit an allied health or sports science graduate or personal trainer
  • 2+ years work experience with demonstrated experience building community
  • Have a history of, and are dedicated to exceeding revenue targets and KPIs, contributing beyond the call of duty.
  • Highly organised and thrive under pressure and able to prioritise a number of different tasks effectively.
  • You enjoy creative problem solving, embrace new challenges, roll up your sleeves, and get things done.

Must have a valid driver’s license and car.

Plus for:

  • Experience in a high-growth business environment or start-up;
  • Business development and sales experience;
  • Content creation passion/experience - photography, videography, blogging
  • Relevant health, aged or disability industry experience and knowledge of market
  • Data analysis and reporting experience
