As the CEO you will be required to work with the Board of Directors to shape the strategic priorities of the organisation and provide strong, effective leadership for a team of staff and volunteers. The role would suit someone who wants to make a difference, has a clear, strong vision for leading change and is eager to hit the ground running.

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the AHF strategic plan at both a strategic and operational level, with particular emphasis on fundraising
  • Lead the diversification of the organisation's funding base and stewardship of high level donor and partner relationships
  • Oversee the development and management of all operations

The Organisation:

The Australian Himalayan Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life of those most in need in the poorest and most under-resourced areas of the Himalaya. We work in partnership with the people of these communities, helping them meet their priority needs through improvements in education, health and the environment. Our programs are aimed at reducing poverty, increasing safe work and life opportunities and addressing human rights. We are members of the Australian Council for International Development and accredited with Australia's official aid program (DFAT).

The Role:

Reporting to the Board, you will work closely with a small team of professionals and volunteers to deliver the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives. You are a strong leader, able to inspire staff and supporters alike, and drive the organisation’s development.

Skills Required:

You are currently an experienced senior manager or CEO looking for the next challenging phase in your professional career. You will have skills in:

  • Revenue raising and high-level donor and partner relations
  • Networking and stakeholder management
  • Financial management
  • Leadership that promotes organisational values, integrity and respect

You will ideally have a successful track record of income generation and revenue growth and experience operating within the context of DFAT accreditation.
