We are seeking to appoint a part time Family Support Coordinator to provide support services to families of babies, children, teens, and adults impacted by congenital and childhood acquired heart disease (CHD). Employment is for a fixed period to cover maternity leave.

HeartKids is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing support for people impacted by congenital or childhood-acquired heart disease (CHD).

This 12-month part time role (22.8 hours per week) maternity leave cover position will be based in our Parramatta office, commencing from December 2021, offering a competitive salary and access to salary packaging.

As Family Support Coordinator, you will deliver a variety of effective support services to people and families impacted by CHD, through collaboration with health professionals from hospitals, clients and other partners throughout metropolitan and regional NSW and the ACT.

As a critical member of the NSW/ACT team and the HeartKids national support network, you will contribute to the success of HeartKids and its relevance to clients and the general public, and have an affinity for working directly with clients with complex health, emotional and financial needs.

  • Awareness of Childhood Heart Disease, trends, issues and challenges
  • Must have an open driver's license and have or undertake a Working with Children Clearance, Police Clearance and undertake required Vaccination and Immunisation requirements as detailed in relevant hospital MOU’s and HeartKids Vaccination Policy.

Qualifications

  • Desired minimum qualification is a Certificate 4 in Community Services or qualifications in Social Work and / or a health related area.
  • Lived experience with congenital/childhood heart disease will also be well regarded.
  • Experience working with indigenous communities would be advantageous.
