This exciting role will work hand in hand with our Young Adults Program Manager to deliver our innovative suite of young adult programs and events. This role will be extremely collaborative, and team based, requiring excellent communication and facilitation skills, it will also be quite flexible in that this role will also support other Heads Together programs when required.
The primary role will include coordination and facilitation of the Heading Out social program as well as program support for our ABILiTy and Cook, Chat, Eat programs. The Program Coordinator would be required to work at least one but up to 3 days depending on the applicant per week at the Heads Together office in Footscray and/or remotely online when required.
In addition to these regular hours, they will also be facilitating the following Heading Out events; weekly online coffee club, monthly in person lunches in the CBD and monthly Friday night virtual drinks. The Program Coordinator would be expected to always work within the purpose of the organisation and to uphold the values of the organisation which are respect, courage, generosity and acceptance.
Heads Together for ABI is a Victorian non-profit organisation which provides an ongoing community that connects and supports the intersectional needs of young people and families impacted by acquired brain injury. We power lived experience and drive positive change through our unique, collaborative model which brings together people with lived and professional experience of brain injury. We learn from each other and create a shared understanding and commitment on how to build better lives for young people with brain injuries.
Our innovative, peer driven programs target the specific needs of young adults, families, parents, teens and kids to build friendships, support networks and the skills and confidence needed to navigate the complex pathway of rehabilitation, recovery and life. The young adult programs have been developed in consultation with our community and specifically targeted to meet the needs of young adults who have acquired a brain injury by the age of 25 who are looking for meaningful opportunities to build their strengths, skills and social networks.
All roles and responsibilities are to support the Program Manager to deliver young adult programs and events.
All employees are required to undergo a National Police Check, a Working with Children Check and require a current first aide certificate.
