THE OPPORTUNITY

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation is compliant with all relevant legislative, regulatory and operational OHS requirements.

As the Occupational Health and Safety Officer, your duties will include:

  • Identifying WH&S issues across the business and implementing mitigating strategies
  • Working with key stakeholders in the organisation to ensure compliance with organisational policy and legislative requirements
  • Providing input and review of OH&S policies and procedures
  • Undertaking OHS risk assessments work sites, for outreach programs, and for tenancy management activities and monitor controls
  • Monitoring ongoing safe work practices and enhancing and embedding a strong safety culture across the organisation

To be successful in the role you will need the following attributes:

  • Relevant WHS/Risk Management qualifications and experience
  • Experience implementing WHS management systems
  • Experience undertaking WHS audits and investigations
  • A sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 legislation, NDIS Practice Standards and Equal Opportunity Principles
  • Excellent computer literacy and high level of administrative skills

In the area of OH&S the focus is on building the safe work culture and ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory OHS requirements, and a candidate with experience and/or a strong interest in this area is highly desirable.
