About your role

We are currently recruiting for Casual Support Workers for our Port Macquarie area Supported Living Services and Flexible Supports.

As a Support Worker at HWNS, you are directly responsible for the day to day support, personal care and personal development of the people we support. You will provide a range of community living services to assist people with a disability to be actively involved in their local community, be valued, respected and engaged in meaningful opportunities and relationships. You will work both in a team environment and independently.

About you

To become part of the team here at HWNS we are looking for people who:

  • Have experience in the disability sector or have a genuine interest working in the disability field.
  • Have the ability to support others with personal care and domestic duties in a respectful way.
  • Enjoy sport, accessing your local community and outdoor activities and have a capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job that may include manual handling tasks.
  • Available to work on a rotating flexible roster, which may include a combination of shifts including days, afternoons, active nights, sleepovers and weekend shifts.
  • Good communication (verbal and written).
  • Good computer competency with MS Office.
  • Enjoy working in a small team environment as well as independently if required.
  • Current Drivers Licence and willingness to use own vehicle (if required) with comprehensive insurance.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain).
  • A commitment to HWNS Values, Mission and the Disability Services Standards.
  • Knowledge of and awareness of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

For the applicants that are successful in progressing through to the next stage of recruiting, we will be holding an information and assessment centre in late May 2019 that you will be required to attend.
