At House with No Steps, we believe that the most important role is that of a Support Worker. It takes an extraordinary type of person to work in this role and right now, the following roles are available across our HWNS teams in the ACT:

Support Workers (Part Time and Casual roles available)

Assessment Centre will be taking place on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th of October 2018 for applicants progressing through to the next stage.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you are directly responsible for the day to day support, personal care and personal development of our customers. You will provide a range of community living services to assist people with a disability to be actively involved in their local community, be valued and respected and engaged in meaningful opportunities and relationships.

About you

We’re interested in extraordinary people who have:

  • Experience working with and/or a commitment to empowering people with a disability
  • Qualifications; or a willingness to undertake Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
  • Well-developed communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Sound computer competency with MS Office
  • The ability to work flexibly across a 24 hour roster
  • Ability to understand, apply and ensure compliance of HWNS policies, procedures, statutory requirements and frameworks
  • Ability to demonstrate active listening skills to assist with providing opportunities for our customers to live a great life
  • A current First Aid Certificate and Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Experience supporting people with complex needs (desirable)
