Harm Reduction Victoria, (HRVic) is seeking a non-judgemental person with excellent communication skills to join our PAMS team.

Please note, this is a largely client-facing role. The position is a 0.6 effective full-time, (EFT), 3 days per week, SCHADS award level 4. The position is available initially for a 12-month period with the possibility of continuation.

The Pharmacotherapy Advocacy Mediation and Support (PAMS) service is a state-wide, telephone-based service that provides mediation, support, advocacy, referral, and information for those involved with treatment for opioid dependence, (methadone and buprenorphine).

HRVic is a community based, membership driven organisation, with a mission to advance the health and human rights of people who use illicit drugs and those on pharmacotherapy.

  • Part time, fixed term position

We are looking for someone to assist us in a part-time PAMS Service Officer Role at least three days a week for an initial 12 months with the possibility of continuation.

Please note that this role is not suitable for applicants seeking peer education or project work. The tasks you will be undertaking are administrative in nature and will be the entirety of the role.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Well-developed organisational skills, and the desire to take responsibility for organisational services including filing, record-keeping, contractor and supplier management.
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding of electronic human resource management; OH&S, and risk management systems.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to action work and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Recent experience in an autonomous position, as well as ability to work as part of a team.
  • Previous work experience in not-for-profit, non-government and/or community sectors.
  • A non-judgemental attitude and alignment with the principles of Harm Reduction Victoria.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and the 365 suites of cloud-based applications.

Desirable

  • Current Victorian driver’s license
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and/or transitioning file systems
