About the Opportunity
Cram is growing and we are seeking a Team Leader to join us! Reporting to the Manager, Operations your primary responsibilities will see you leading a team of support staff working in the Community and in Supported Independent Accommodation. You’ll oversee the provision of person-centred support services including personal care, social support and capacity building to ensure that each participant reaches their goals.
Your highly developed communication skills and authentic approach will ensure you’re able to develop positive relationships internally and externally, as you interact daily with participants, families, staff and members of the community.
To be a great and successful Team Leader at Cram, you will need to:
- Support Participants to live their best life;
- Engage with community stakeholders, potential participants and providers;
- Develop, lead and maintain a positive staff culture within the Site;
- Manage staff performance, including recognition of good performance, and management or escalation of substandard performance or misconduct;
- Assist in the recruitment, induction and training of staff and volunteers;
- Assist with the operational management of the Budget and Finances in line with all current financial procedures and legislative requirements;
- Work collaboratively with Management to develop, implement, monitor and review risk management strategies for the Cram homes, participants and staff;
- Oversee the efficient operation of the homes including, but not limited to, repairs maintenance, household and Participant related expenditure and transport;
- Ensure support is underpinned and delivered in alignment with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework, Person Centred approach and Cram Values.
- Be on an on-call roster intermittently
Conduct rotational one on one coaching (shadowing), mentoring and development to identify individual training and development needs of staff and work in conjunction with the MSO/Human Resources to address these needs.
Essentials for the role:
- Qualification at Diploma Level in Management / Community Services/ Disability/ Aged/ Health or equivalent experience in management or industry;
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills through the application of contemporary human resource practices;
- Proven ability to motivate, mentor and supervise staff with a Participant focus whilst working within a changing environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to the rights and interests of people with a disability which are underpinned by the principles of relevant legislation and policies;
- Excellent organisational, communication, negotiation and liaison skills
- Sound computer literacy skills;
- Ability to foster continuous improvement;
- Sound computer literacy skills

Please note, it is a condition of employment that the successful candidate holds, or is able to obtain before commencement:
- Valid Working with Children Check;
- Valid National Police Check;
- Current First Aid Certificate;
- Current CPR Certificate; and
- Current Driver's Licence
