Growth Director

Greenpeace Australia Pacific

The Role

We know you’re in high demand. You could work for a merchant bank, a fin-tech start-up, or a large consultancy firm. But while you do that, Australia is set to build the largest coal mine ever and opening new oil frontiers… all whilst climate change rapidly escalates.

So come work with us instead. We don’t have fancy offices (although we do have awesome boats). There are no share offerings, except for a share in the most meaningful and challenging work around, that will see you make a huge difference you can be proud of.

Greenpeace Australia Pacific is an organisation taking flight. Our campaigns are having major impact. But if we are to avoid the worst impacts of devastating climate change, we need to rapidly scale-up!

We want to re-imagine traditional fundraising, identify and develop new income streams and, ultimately, grow a war chest that will allow us to tackle the big polluters and usher in the renewable energy era. All such initiatives must be consistent with our Theory of Change, our Three Year Plan, our Brand, and in the context of our independence: the thing that makes us incorruptible.

Reporting directly to our CEO, David Ritter, the Growth Director will form an integral part of our senior management team. We’re open to all types of backgrounds – and to leaders with the savvy to manage complex projects. Leadership, vision, and determination are the most important selection criteria.

Skills Required

  • Creative and Strategic thinking. This role calls for innovation. The most important task is to envision what it will look like for Greenpeace to embrace the new digital directions that empower our supporters to make a huge impact.
  • Project and Product Management. Product and project management skills are essential. Experienced Product Managers would be well suited to this role. Manage our in-house team and engage external contractors and stakeholders to help us achieve our vision.
  • Leadership. Technical skills will not suffice to get this job done. Leadership skills are crucial. To succeed, you must be skilled at managing both your direct reports, and the integration of your work with multiple teams throughout the organisation.
  • Experience. While we will consider applications from all backgrounds, a background in business or organisational development or cross-sector/cross-region expansion are very advantageous.

Salary - $150,278.18 gross per annum + Superannuation.
