Green Cross Australia (GCA) is an environmental NGO that helps people adapt to the effects of our changing climate.

We are a part of Green Cross International, with our Australian office based in inner city Brisbane. We work with a wide variety of partners across a range of projects aimed at addressing the humanitarian effects of our changing climate.

We are looking for an Executive Support Officer to support the team. This role is extremely diverse and offers a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested a career in the environmental or NGO sector. It would also suit an experienced administrator looking for community sector employment.

The role offers a chance to work closely with the Green Cross team and CEO. No two days are the same with a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities.

This position is suitable for either a capable recent graduate with some work experience or an experienced administration professional wishing to give back to the community sector.

Responsibilities broadly include:

  • Direct support to the CEO: diary and meetings management, correspondence, travel arrangements, and document management.
  • Secondary support to Company Secretary and Financial Controller: filing, banking, admin receipts, support correspondence.
  • Liaison with senior members of GCA’s Collaborative Partner base including: Government, Corporations, NGOs, Community members, and related project staff.
  • Managing and responding to queries and requests from broader stakeholders.
  • General office management: welcoming visitors, answering phones and retrieving voice messages, following up enquiries, stocking office supplies, basic support to projects, volunteers and staff on as needs basis and as directed by the CEO.
  • Coordinating and scheduling acquittals: Tracking and coordinating acquittals for government and private grants
