This is not a job ad. 

This is not a call for a hundred and fourteen CVs to splice into a scorecard and rank you by numbers in boxes in the hopes of finding on paper THE ONE. 

We’re not looking for a formally crafted intro letter that was copy and pasted, showing attention to detail by being SURE to check you edited our name, before smartly and professionally listing your skills and experience, with just the right touch of personality, nor are we quite yet needing to know where you studied or what your hobbies are. Though we can’t wait to learn all of these things, as they no doubt have in some way shaped the person you are.

What we’d really like to know is what drives you. 

  • What is your purpose? 
  • What are you drawn to? 
  • What do you want to change in the world? 

If you don’t know, that’s okay, but it matters to us that you at least care that you don’t know. Maybe we can figure it out together. 

What we’d really like to know is what you value. What’s important to you? You, the human. 

We’re not looking for answers you think we want to hear, answers that you hope will present you in a good and interesting light. We’re just looking for the truth. We want you to feel like you have permission to be open, and honest, and just YOU. We bet that’s enough. We bet just you is more interesting than anything you can construct.

We don’t particularly want to hear that you work well autonomously but also in teams, though both are important to us and hopefully to you. We don’t want to know that perfectionism is your greatest weakness. We’d like you to feel that you can be more vulnerable than that.

We want you to know what we’re building here at Good Empire, and why we’re doing it, so you can decide if this is what you would like to wake up each morning to be a part of, to help build, whatever your role in this might become. 

We want you to know what burns in our hearts. We want to know what you FEEL when you read it. We want to know if you care, or if you’re skim reading this looking for an M or a C in the title, and a number that's bigger than six.

We’re gathering, uniting and empowering an empire of good humans to help save the f**king world. 

We want to know what that means to you.

We’re building a gamified impact platform and social app that brings people and organisations together through challenges, collective action, and missions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We’re a startup. Recently funded, after a successful equity crowdfund with over 1000 investors from all around the world coming on board to support our mission.

We’re a small team. Five of us, so far. You’ll make it six.  It’s just the beginning. We want to know if that excites you, to be there at the beginning, to be able to shape the vision, with all you have. Every idea, every action. It’s limitless, if you have the courage.

THE KINDS OF THINGS THAT WILL EXCITE US:

  • Your ability to create a powerful content strategy and execute the s**t out of it
  • Being well-informed and fierce about global human rights and environmental sustainability, both the problems and the solutions
  • Having a deep understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. 
  • Off a foundation of strong communication skills, you have experience writing original, compelling and engaging messaging and content
  • Having a good eye for design and aesthetic and being able to work in at least Canva 
  • Ability to create social media content that inspires and engages people 
  • You can create email campaigns that people actually want to read
  • You can engage influencers and spokespeople to work with on our missions
  • You’re super familiar with most social platforms and their reporting dashboards
  • You understand community and are a natural connector and enabler (in a good way)
  • You’re able to manage many, many relationships at once, without people feeling let down or forgotten
  • You can show strong initiative and be down with working in a fast-paced, big vision startup, in an agile, sprint-style environment
  • You are truly driven by environmental justice and human rights, and sincerely want to help save the f**king world
  • You have experience developing and implementing research-based communications strategies, with things like framing and message development
  • You’ve had roles involving a deep understanding of digital campaign assets, including websites and social media platforms
  • You’ve community-managed an impact brand, and not just moderating online communities but truly connecting with them
