Glow Worm Electric Bicycles has been operating in Marrickville in Sydney's inner west for 10 years, making it one of the oldest electric bicycle shops in the country. It has become an institution in the local community, cherished by its loyal customer base and well-known for its commitment to introducing life changing alternative transportation with social, environmental, economic and health benefits. Its customer base and product offering is strongly weighted towards families, with commuting and cargo electric bicycles the strongest categories. These two are the fastest growing sections in the bicycle industry world-wide.
Our customers use electric bicycles in their daily life in many ways, including dropping off kids to daycare, commuting to work, visiting friends and shops to simply staying active recreationally. They report benefits to their mental and physical wellbeing, better connectedness to their community, motivation to live more locally and a reduction in financial stress. The community at large also benefits from our customers' use of their electric bicycles through safer streets, less pollution and more people visible and present in the community.
Working with Glow Worm is an opportunity to work closely within the community and make a real difference to many people's lives. It is also an opportunity to join a new and exciting industry sector experiencing high growth nationwide. The team is small (5) and tight-knit. They would also be responsible for behind the scenes operations such as taxation, insurance, financial reporting, superannuation and compliance (with support from accountant and bookkeeper).
All team members, which includes mechanics, sales people and book-keeper, would report to the business manager. The business manager would report directly to the two business owners. For the most part, the manager is expected to be self-sufficient. Support will be available through weekly meetings with the owners and a business coach can be made available.
The successful candidate will be available immediately or imminently, highly efficient and organised and ready for a challenge.
