Glossodia Community Centre, established in 1982 is situated in the heart of Glossodia NSW, next door to the local shopping centre and close to the public school. The DCJ funded TEI program operates out of the Centre as does the Out of School Hours Care service.

GCC’s main building has two halls which are available for hire and two smaller buildings in the back, one used for youth activities and one for meetings etc.

In broad terms the Centre Manager/Community Development Worker role will support the Management Committee to set goals and priorities for the organisation, engage and consult with the community to identify needs and where possible and appropriate implement activities/programs to meet those needs.

This is a Part Time position; days of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate. This position is classified at Level 7 of the NSW SCHADS Award.

Selection Criteria

Essential

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (i.e. social sciences, social work, community development, community management or behavioural sciences)
• Demonstrated experience leading and supporting a team
• Demonstrated understanding of and experience in delivering the Targeted Earlier Intervention program
• Community development/community consultation experience
• Understanding of governance in the NFP sector including budgeting and accountability reporting to funders
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to develop and maintain networks
• Capacity to work in a culturally competent framework
• Experience liaising with Management Committee/sub-committees and funding bodies
• Sound organisational and time management skills
• Ability to manage policies and procedures
