Global Sisters exists to create a world where every woman is provided with the opportunity to create her own economic future. We make business possible for all women. We work to address practical, structural and systemic barriers to women’s economic participation and sustainable employment. Our strategic focus is on sole parents and older women, as these groups need flexible, decent work that fits in with their circumstances and empowers them socially and economically. Global Sisters supports women to develop a business idea and turn that into self-employment, and in doing so, creates a better future for themselves, their family and their community.
These roles (2 x) provide support for the Global Sisters Women with Disabilities Self-Employment Demonstration Project and the Single Mums on Parenting Payment Single (PPS) Demonstration Project. In these projects, Global Sisters will connect with and support 200 women with disabilities and 300 women who are solo parents on PPS who are interested in self-employment / entrepreneurship. These roles will be responsible for:
- Supporting relationship building and program marketing to partner / aligned organisations and groups
- Screening and on-boarding of new Sisters
- Regular connection with Sisters 1:1 or in a group to support them to move forward in their business and access the right Global Sisters and external support
- Delivery of and facilitates access to our lifecycle of business support - responsible for ensuring members understand the options available and are signed up and engaged with the relevant program for them.
- Support our business coaching program to secure appropriate coaches who are trained in disability accessibility and/or are sensitive to the specific needs of these cohorts
- Helping to provide tech/access support to those with accessibility needs (ie signing up to an online Portal).
- Admin (including data entry) and reporting of the progress of the cohorts.
Who would suit these roles?
We highly encourage applications from people with disabilities and carers & lived experience of being a single mother, as well as First Nations Australians, LGBTQI+ individuals, and people from diverse backgrounds.
- You have previously demonstrated experience working within a case management framework or system, and/or project management in social work, welfare, allied health or community services, or previous work in a business incubator, assisting micro business/start-up founders.
- You have previous experience facilitating or presenting to small groups online.
- You have a broad demonstrated understanding of the systemic and economic barriers for women to pursue micro businesses.
- You are collaborative, approachable and a problem-solver, you can relate to people of all backgrounds
- You have demonstrated an understanding of the accessibility needs of women with a disability and solo parents
- You are organised, results-driven and disciplined in using programs such as Excel/google sheets and databases to evaluate, track and maintain case records.
- You are comfortable working both autonomously and remotely but will still be a strongly connected team member.
- You are a results-focused individual, who likes to understand your place in the strategy and how they can execute against it to achieve in their role
- You are self-aware, high in integrity and empathy, a keen learner, and like to make a difference.
- You have high-level written and verbal communication skills and pay strong attention to detail.
