  • Category: Fixed term (concluding 20th December 2026) subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probation period, potential for extension subject to funding.
  • Location: Work from home.
  • Salary: Range $37.35 per hour plus super.
  • Award and Classification: SCHAWDS Award Level 3.

From lived experience to collective strength, GSDSA supports people new to disability. We are an exciting start-up charity based in Central Victoria, looking to expand nationally into every local government area. Our programs are locally based, community supported and co designed with people living with disability and sector experts. Our aim is for individuals to connect with local supports and services, build community connections, plan for emergencies, and have a voice within their neighbourhoods.

Purpose

We are seeking a highly organised and collaborative person who is passionate about supporting a great cause. This is a unique opportunity to work with a young charity, with opportunity to help build a national program. We are about to rollout our programs in both metro Melbourne and regional Victoria throughout 2025/26 and aim to be a national leader in disability peer support. This person will support our small team through its next phase of growth and evolution. 

The role

Administration & Executive Support

  • Assist with back of house set up and ongoing operations.
  • Assist and manage operational budgets and project budgets.
  • Assist with Xero bookkeeping, tax, and general compliance reporting.
  • Assist with employee administration and compliance.
  • Provide organisational support to multiple internal and external stakeholders including: the Board, CEO, Facilitators, Local, State and Federal government partners as required. 

Project, Event Coordination, and Communication Support

  • Assist with event planning, bookings, and source interpreters,
  • Assist with social media management, booking advertising and organising printing.
  • Manage digital communications.

Evaluation and Program Support

  • Creating and collating evaluation surveys.
  • Research and compile local provider information.
  • Support the organisation to realise our charities Strategic Plan.

About you

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with fellow employees, external creatives, community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Competent computer skills, sound working knowledge of administrative procedures, and social media.
  • Strong time-management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work under pressure.
  • An understanding of event or program management.
  • Business management experience, preferable within not-for-profit sector. 

Highly Desirable

  • You identify as a person with a disability or have lived experience of disability.
