Manager - Crisis Response

We are seeking a Family Violence leader to step into our Crisis Response Manager role within our Crisis Response and Brief Interventions team!

This role is available on a full-time basis ranging from a SCHADS Level 8 ($120,331.12 to $125,066.24) superannuation + $15,990 salary sacrificing.

The Crisis Response Family Violence Program offers a specialist face-to-face response to victim survivors and their children who have recently experienced family violence and are being accommodated in the Western Metropolitan or Brimbank Melton regions. The service is accessible 7 days per week 24-hours per day on weekends and public holidays.

This role is available on a full-time and rostered basis. Reporting to the General Manager – Crisis and Brief Intervention you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Crisis Response Team including coordinating extended hours service. This support includes ensuring clients in crisis receive timely, consistent, high-quality support; and developing and maintaining strong interfaces with key stakeholders to deliver a joined-up client response.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Coordinate intake and referral functions and the management of emergency and accommodation response services
  • Develop a culture which prioritises the comprehensive assessment and management of risk.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management and participate in senior management team meetings.
  • Resolve issues of concern or complaints that may arise during service delivery including interface issues and client complaints.
  • Coordinate and guide others in the execution of work activities; monitoring progress of tasks against plans and take corrective action when required.

Suitable candidates will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work or a related field as per the Minimum Mandatory Qualifications (MMQ).
  • 5-7 years' experience in the community services sector, and/or family violence sector, that includes managing complex workloads.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role.
  • Knowledge of key legislative and policy frameworks and practice relevant to family violence, including but not limited to the Crisis Response Model and the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM and an ability to embed these in operational processes.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate experience working within a crisis environment including effective collaboration across complex business structures.
