About the role

The Solution Architect role is to strategically design and implement information systems and software architectures that support Good Shepherd's core organisational functions and assure their high availability. You will gain organisational commitment for all technology and software plans, as well as evaluate and select all technologies required for the next phase of organisational transformation. You will provide technical leadership across the organisation, from strategic decision making down to project level planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will:

  • Be joining a friendly, highly skilled team
  • Directly contribute to the organisation’s digital transformation
  • Design and implement systems and architectures to support our core functions.
  • Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to Business Analysts, Business System Analysts, Systems Engineers, other vendor Architects, and software development teams.
  • Be involved in strategic decision making down to project planning and execution
  • Utilize your strong people skills to engage our committed and passionate stakeholders. You will foster excellent relationships, particularly with General Managers and executives.

About you

  • At least 5 years’ experience in solution architecture and/or lead development experience, ideally with an understanding of the NFP sector
  • Extensive experience in developing strategic systems architecture plans
  • Proven experience in system design and development
  • Solid grounding in core enterprise applications
  • Skilled in end-to-end process re-engineering/transformation activities
  • Respectful and inclusive, works well with people from diverse backgrounds and diverse ways of thinking and working.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into practical applications and operational solutions.
  • Knowledge of highly available, highly scalable cloud-based infrastructures (Azure or alike)
  • A satisfactory National Police Check
  • A satisfactory International Police Check (If lived and worked overseas in last 10 years)
  • A current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Evidence of Covid-19 vaccination, or medical exemption
