About the George Gray Centre

The George Gray Centre Inc. (GGC) is a multifaceted, not for profit business that provides support for people with disability who live in the Wellington Shire. It encompasses a day service that provides programs based on individual needs with a focus on enhancing personal development, increasing independence and promoting community inclusion. GGC also runs two Australian Disability Enterprises - ADE businesses that provide supported employment, one within the hospitality industry; Foster Place Café and the other in the horticultural industry; Foster Place Gardening Services. Employment opportunities are also provided to those from disadvantaged backgrounds through our social enterprise café Dock 70.

About the Role

The position of Chief Executive Officer is the key to the organisation's capacity to be a leader in the changing environment of the disability sector. In this respect the incumbent will have significant input into the organisation's policy and program development and be responsible for the day to day operation of the organisation, as well as relationships with other relevant agencies, with the media and with Government at all levels.

Key Selection Criteria

(for an application to be considered complete the below selection criteria must be addressed in a cover letter)

  • A knowledge of, or experience within, the disability sector and/or the NDIS
  • Extensive experience in a senior executive or CEO role - preferably within a NFP environment;
  • A strong commercial acumen and strategic leadership abilities
  • A solid financial intelligence - preferably pertaining to NFP
  • A values-based leadership approach with demonstrable ability to motivate and empower
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with both community and key stakeholders at all levels.
