The Great Barrier Reef is a unique icon and an irreplaceable ecosystem. It’s the largest living thing on earth and home to thousands of species of marine life, including six of the world’s seven species of marine turtle.

For over 20 years the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF) has been the lead charity for the Reef, driving the immediate change needed for the Reef to survive for future generations. Right now, we have over 370 Reef-saving projects with over 500 project delivery partners.

We are the action station for the Reef, bringing together people and science to deliver the world’s largest coral reefs program. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Digital Content Producer will work as the lead editorial role for the Foundation and an internal advocate for the Foundation’s brand.

This critical position will have strong communication skills and help the Foundation grow our audience and enhance engagement by telling stories of impact.

Working with a team of communications professionals you will have your finger on the pulse, creating compelling organic content for the Foundation’s channels, whilst contributing to high impact multi-team projects. As the manager of the Foundation’s content strategy you will plan, produce, develop and curate photo, video and multimedia content to engage supporters across channels, with a focus on social, web and email.

This role also serves an educational and training function, supporting the team to take our owned, in-house content production to new levels and enhancing internal practices for storytelling, graphic design and multimedia production.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a digital content production or digital marketing/communications role, with relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience)
  • Talented writer and editor with the ability to craft punchy copy for a range of audiences and platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to create rich and impactful storytelling products as demonstrated through a strong portfolio of creative digital content
  • Strong working knowledge of digital platforms and creative production tools e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, SharePoint, website content management /CMS and social media platforms
  • Experience using data to monitor, optimise and evaluate creative content performance
  • Demonstrated ability to take complex ideas and subject matter and synthesise into something meaningful and accessible
  • Demonstrated experience planning and managing resources and timeframes to ensure successful communication outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with complex stakeholders

WORK TYPE

This Brisbane based role is full time for a 12 month fixed term (maternity leave cover) - flexible work arrangements are available.
