About the Opportunity

Fulham Correctional Centre delivers comprehensive, quality, reintegration services to prisoners and we are seeking an Assessment and Transition Coordinator (ATC) to join our multidisciplinary team.

ATC’s work within the Offender Management Framework (OMF) to deliver the Corrections Victoria Reintegration Pathway (CVRP).

Our work is fast paced and as an ATC you will provide a range of supports and services to assist prisoners transition into, through and out of prison. This includes coordinating prisoners’ involvement in transitional programs, liaison and provision of assistance to external service providers, facilitation of referrals, coordination and delivery of programs and the parole application process.  

ATC’s play a key leadership and change management role within the centre and work to promote quality case management and successful reintegration.

ATC’s are required to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with contracted service providers, Community Corrections Services (CCS) the Adult Parole Board (APB) and all other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be provided comprehensive training in the CVRP and associated assessments and be supported to gain accreditation in structured risk-related assessment tools.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline and/or demonstrated skills and experience in Human Services, welfare practice, educated or related fields
  • Demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners
  • Demonstrated capacity or aptitude to work with hard to engage clients, individually and in a group setting
  • Previous experience in working within legislation framework
  • Excellent people management skills including providing effective service delivery to stakeholders
  • High level of problem-solving skills and the ability to develop operational responses to recurring issues based on knowledge, expertise and an accurate interpretation of data.
  • Intermediate/ advanced computer skills

Other requirements of the role

  • Ability to work within a correctional setting, which will involve direct contact with prisoners
  • Valid and current full Australian driver’s licence
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
