ABOUT US

We are a small, family owned and run Eco-tourism business, running guided 4 day walks out of our beautiful Friendly Beaches Lodge, on the East Coast of Tasmania. We value environmentally conscious and regenerative tourism practices, collaborative and respectful working environments, and high-level, client centered customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • You will be comfortable working autonomously and assisting a small to medium team of casual workers.
  • You will be highly adaptable, a strong problem solver and have a high level of professionalism.
  • You will have experience in logistics and an understanding of the eco-tourism industry in Tasmania.
  • You will have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
  • You will be remunerated according to experience and qualification.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend to enquiries from public, guests, travel agents etc. from time to time, as required, when the primary responsible officer is unavailable.
  • Assist with bookings from time to time, as required, when the primary responsible officer is unavailable.
  • Confirm details with guests prior to trips and liaise with guests post trip (including distributing post trip surveys and newsletters).
  • Maintain and update guest mailing list and details as required.
  • Additional duties as directed by the Operations Manager and Director.
  • Maintain all guest enquiries logs alongside administrations and bookings officer.
  • Manage staff Facebook Page.
  • Manage staff debriefing and incident administration as required.
  • Assist with social media posting and updates as required in collaboration with the administrative officer.
  • Distribute trip manifests and coordinate and communicate trip specific logistics.
  • Be on call to manage emergency situations when guest trips are running on site, when the Operations Manager is not available.
  • Greet guests and ensure trips depart on time with appropriate supplies and gear.
  • Organise and maintain all trip gear, laundry and supplies. Coordinate storage unit operations and pre and post trip gear collection and maintenance.
  • Operate vehicles as required to attend inspections and services.
  • Meet trips on their return and obtain feedback.
  • Maintain assets, co-ordinate suppliers, on site trades people, fire services with direction from the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure Friendly Beaches operates at a high level of service and cleanliness.
  • Work with Operations Manager to oversee lodge setup and pack down including security and return of keys.
