About the Organisation

The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. (also known as Foundation House) provides services to advance the health, wellbeing, and human rights of people of refugee backgrounds in Victoria who have experienced torture or other traumatic events in their country of origin, or while fleeing those countries.

The organisation was established in Melbourne in 1987 and is non-denominational, politically neutral, and non-aligned. With over 200 staff, Foundation House is a state-wide agency offering services in metropolitan, regional and rural areas, with head office based in Brunswick and service sites in Dallas, Dandenong, Ringwood and Sunshine.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Naturopath/Massage Therapist to join our Complementary Therapies team to provide a range of trauma informed therapeutic services to clients focusing on herbal medicine, nutrition and massage, remedial or shiatsu therapy.

The Naturopath/Massage Therapist complements the work of our Counsellor Advocates by providing a range of therapeutic services to deliver positive improvements in the subjective and objective measures of health.

About you

You are a qualified Massage Therapist and Naturopath who is able to demonstrate experience in providing bodywork health assessments and provide a range of natural therapies including herbal and nutritional medicine lifestyle and exercise guidance. You are committed to massage therapy as a therapeutic intervention and willing to spend around half your time providing massage therapy.

You adopt a flexible work approach, showing empathy and genuine interest in working with vulnerable clients. You will be working with a high degree of autonomy managing your own caseload, as well as working collaboratively with your team.

Salary and benefits

Remuneration is based on our Enterprise Agreement 2014 ranging between $96,962 and $101,250 gross salary per annum (pro rata), plus 17.5% leave loading and 10.5% superannuation. Additional benefits include salary packaging up to $18,550.
