Foodbank Victoria is the largest and oldest food relief organisation in the state. We rescue millions of kilograms of food and grocery items annually to distribute to more than 450 charities across Victoria, with the aim of helping to improve the lives of Victorians that need our assistance.

We rely on the support of over 2000 volunteers every year to enable us to provide food relief to people facing hardship in Victoria. Due an internal promotion we are looking for a coordinator to organise and support our volunteers. This is a paid position.

The Opportunity:

Our volunteers come from the corporate sector and the local community, and you are the link between them and food relief for Victorians.

You will be organising volunteer activities in our warehouse, office administration, and engaging volunteers to assist at shows, festivals, and community celebrations.

About you:

• Passionate about Foodbank Victoria’s vision of healthy food for all and have a genuine interest in the issue of food insecurity
• Support our values of empowerment, accountability, integrity and respect
• Have an appreciation for the time and hard work of volunteers, ideally gained through previous volunteer work or management
• Enjoy meeting new people and working with diverse and energetic volunteer groups
• Have the ability to give instruction and direction
• Be a confident public speaker and comfortable presenting to large groups
• Previous experience coordinating people is highly regarded but not essential
• Demonstrated administrative experience
• Proficient with MS Office program including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and have the ability to learn volunteer management programs (Better Impact)
