The Food Co-operative Shop is Australia’s oldest food co-operative. It has been our mission to provide ‘food for people, not for profit’ since 1976. We operate a membership owned and run bulk food store, community hub, catering service, events space and popular cafe. We aim to increase access to affordable, local ethical and sustainable products, support the production of local produce and promote environmentally and socially just living.

THE ROLE

The Food Co-op is seeking an experienced marketing professional who will assist us to increase sales, build our volunteer base and enhance community engagement at the Co-op.

Key deliverables include:

  • Liaison with the Co-management team and Directors on key messaging to ensure development of a social media marketing plan
  • Content creation for the Co-op’s website, Google, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok which promotes our events and products in line with the social media marketing plan
  • Development, scheduling and publication posts to the Co-op’s socials in line with the social media marketing plan
  • Development of high quality social media advertising campaigns using Meta
  • Producing a monthly report for the Board on socials engagement
  • Upskilling other staff on marketing and communications

You must have:

  • At least three years professional experience in digital marketing
  • An ability to work effectively with autonomy and initiative
  • Inter-personal and stakeholder engagement skills to liaise with Co-managers and Directors
  • An in-depth understanding of the Co-op’s operating structure, values and missions
