Feros Care is proud to working in partnership with the National Disability Insurance Agency to deliver Local Coordination services in Mackay. How will you make a difference?

Feros Care Local Area Coordinators play a central role in supporting people with disability to live fulfilling lives by assisting in the access and connection to reasonable and necessary supports required to live an ordinary life, as well as building relationships and connections within the broader community.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assist participants to develop a goal-based, individualised Plan
  • Guide and assist participants to develop explore options and build capacity to undertake self-management
  • Provide information, linkages and supports to utilise mainstream supports and connect with their community
  • Work in collaboration with a mobile workforce to advocate wellbeing and empowerment for people with disability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and positive partnerships with external stakeholders in the wider community to facilitate effective access and appropriate referral to a diverse range of service providers

A little about you:

As a Local Area Coordinator at Feros Care, you will be the heartbeat of the scheme in your local community. Your natural ability to manage multifaceted time demands and be a self-starter will serve you well in this role as you navigate between planning meetings and drafting participant plans for approval. Having a solid understanding of Windows applications, using mobile technology to optimise your day and ability to problem solve on the run are crucial as you will be working across several platforms, including regular remote working in the community. Most importantly, a genuine passion to empower Australians with disability and an unwavering commitment to upholding both Feros Care values and the core pillars of the Scheme are non-negotiable and paramount to delivering world-class service in a person-centred way, the Feros Care way!

  • A relevant qualification in disability, community services, child services, or lived experience of disability is highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to delivering high quality service that is person-centred and strengths-based, ideally to people with disability, their families, carers or vulnerable groups within local communities
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders within the local community, whilst actively seeking to establish and strengthen new relationships with peak bodies in the local area to promote inclusive community practices and outcomes for participants
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to accurately capture and interpret complex information into a live CRM system
  • Well-developed time management skills and self-accountability in a fast-paced, maturing environment with a focus on transparent key-deliverables and KPIs
  • A well-rounded approach to confidentiality, sensitivity, and professional integrity; a keen sense of self awareness is crucial in this role
  • As this role has a heavy emphasis on community participation, an unrestricted driver’s license is required
  • The ability to attend initial training and orientation in our head office at Coolangatta, QLD or travel to another location for up to 4 weeks. Associated costs for travel and accommodation covered by Feros Care.
