True Relationships and Reproductive Health (True) invites suitably qualified candidates to register interest in becoming a voluntary Director of the Board.
Due to the retirement of a number of Board members, True is seeking to recruit people who have a strong commitment to making a difference in the field of sexual and reproductive health, to join us in the following Board positions:
In addition to a strong alignment with the vision, values and strategic directions of True, the Board is particularly interested in recruiting individuals who have professional experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Directors must be prepared to attend and participate in various meetings, including at least 6 Board meetings per year, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and serve on at least one Board committee (quarterly meetings). Current committees of the Board include:
Previous experience as a Board Director and/or willingness to undertake relevant professional development is desirable. GAICD or similar credentials highly regarded. Previous experience as a Chair of NFP Boards is desirable for appointment to the Chair position.
People of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background, from the LGBTQI+ or disability community or from regional Queensland are encouraged to apply.
Directors must be eligible to hold a Working with Children Blue Card, and may undergo other probity checks as required. Each voluntary Director is elected to serve a three-year term.
Originally founded as Family Planning Queensland, True Relationships & Reproductive Health (True) was established in 1972 and is a profit-for-purpose organisation.
Our goal is to achieve substantial, positive social impact by improving reproductive and sexual health and promoting safe and respectful relationships. True achieves this through the delivery of expert clinical services, education and counselling.
Today, True operates from Cairns, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba and the Gold Coast, as well as through a comprehensive regional outreach program.
