The opportunity

True is looking for a passionate individual who wants to share their strategic communications experience and passion for diverse communities, to promote and build the brand of Qld’s first NFP sexual health organisation. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes marketing and communications.

The Marketing and Communications Lead is responsible for managing and delivering True’s communication and marketing strategies to drive brand value and engagement with services and health initiatives.

The role overseas a small team of marketing and comms content creators to ensure a high level of understanding of the services, impact and value of the organisation.

This is a position that is focused on advocacy and health promotion, through to high-level strategic communications that build brand value and drive commercial opportunities.

True (formerly Family Planning Qld) is a Queensland charity that’s been around since 1972. We stand up for sexual and reproductive health, and safe, respectful relationships for all. Our focus is on advocacy across the sexual and reproductive health sector, and we offer three areas of service delivery to the community: clinics, counselling, and education.

What you will bring to the role –

  • 5+ years’ experience in a lead marketing/communications role.
  • Strong strategic, planning and organisational skills with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing/communications plans.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience producing a range of communications materials with a focus on excellence and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with and support of team members, including respect for different work styles and points of view.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop rapport with all stakeholders across the sector and community.
  • Strong analytical skills that inform decision making, including experience with CRMs, CMSs, Mailchimp, Meta and Google analytics.
  • Understanding of the dynamics and sensitivity of working in the NGO or NFP sexual and reproductive health space.
