About the role

The Registered Nurse plays an important role in supporting the strategic directions of Family Planning NSW. This is a multi-faceted role. In addition to clinical service delivery and clinical training, the role may provide the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience in research, telephone referral and information line and professional education. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Criteria

Essential

  1. Primary nursing degree with current AHPRA registration as a registered nurse
  2. Post graduate qualification in reproductive and sexual health nursing (RSH CAP or equivalent)
  3. Minimum 2 years post graduate experience including demonstrated clinical experience in reproductive and sexual health
  4. Experience working with FPNSW’s defined priority populations - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, young people, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse people
  5. High level interpersonal and communication skills
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  7. Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise electronic medical record systems
  8. Willingness to develop skills in LARC insertion and removal (implant and/or IUD)

Desirable

  1. Previous experience in perioperative nursing, clinical instruction, professional education and/or clinical research
  2. Experience in working with people from the LGBTIQ community
  3. Willingness to participate in the international development program, including travel within the Pacific region

Other requirements

  • A Criminal Record Check and Working With Children Check are required prior to commencement in this role
  • Immunisation/vaccination requirements apply to this role
