About the role

The Medical Officer is expected to provide high quality clinical services to Family Planning NSW clients and work effectively in a team environment. They will maintain high clinical standards and professional medical practices across the organisation in accordance with Family Planning NSW policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.

Key Criteria

Essential

1. Primary medical degree with current AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner (VR)
2. Unrestricted Medicare provider number
3. FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health (or equivalent)
4. Broad based clinical experience with previous experience in reproductive and sexual health
5. Skills in LARC insertion (implant and/or IUD) or willingness to be trained in same
6. High level interpersonal and communication skills
7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
8. Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise electronic medical record systems

Desirable

1. Skills in abortion provision (medical and/or surgical) or willingness to be trained in same
2. Previous experience in clinical instruction and/or clinical research
3. Current unrestricted NSW Driver’s License and ability to travel & work at various locations across greater metropolitan Sydney

Other requirements

• A Criminal Record Check and Working With Children Check are required prior to commencement in this role
• Immunisation/vaccination requirements apply to this role

Salary Range depending on experience: $156,474 - $166,003 (FTE) base salary + Annual Leave Loading + Superannuation + Salary Packaging
