Our mission is to provide assistance to address the cause and effect of homelessness and poverty, as well as unemployment, faced by marginalised individuals. We succeed in achieving this through a combination of caring services like food provision, social welfare and education support.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic dentist to join our team at our free dental clinic.

This opportunity is open to volunteers, casual workers, and part-time professionals who want to contribute their expertise and time, one day a week to help those in need. Opportunity for more than one day a week if you are part of the NSW Health Voucher Scheme.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide high-quality dental care and treatment to patients in need, including general dentistry services such as oral exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and basic restorative work.
  • Comprehensive examinations using diagnostic tools such as radiography.
  • Assess and diagnose patient dental health & diseases and develop detailed treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
  • Replace lost teeth with dentures where appropriate.
  • Perform surgical procedures on teeth, bone & soft tissues of the oral cavity.
  • Undertake teeth cleaning, fluoride application and other pharmaceutical interventions.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventative care to promote long-term dental health.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive, accurate and professional clinical records.
  • Write prescriptions to assist with pain and disease management.
  • Manage complex cases with multidisciplinary management.
  • Monitor growth and development of the teeth and jaw
  • Supervise treatments by allied dental staff such as hygienists and prosthetists

YOU WILL HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry (or equivalent) that is recognised by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Registration with the AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Diagnostic experience

Bill Crews Charitable Trust and the Exodus Foundation are separate but co-operating entities. Both collaborate to meet the services and programs delivered under the Rev. Bill Crews Foundation brand name.

All Bill Crews Foundation employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to comply with relevant booster vaccinations approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status will be required prior to commencing this role.

Applicants must hold work rights for Australia, and the successful candidate will be required to complete a Working With Children Check and Police Check as part of their employment.
