Over its 30-year history Ermha has developed significant expertise in supporting people who are experiencing social and systemic barriers associated with mental illness, disability, poverty and/or drug and alcohol misuse. The organisation now supports over 1500 people each year.
The Support Coordinator will provide strengths-based, recovery-oriented and person-centred support and co-ordination of supports to people living with a serious mental illness or other disability. The position will deliver a service that facilitates empowerment, seeks to enhance informed decision-making and enables community participation. The role includes a large element of participant driven decision-making in relation to support direction and balances operating as part of a cohesive team with working autonomously on agreed client goals and objectives, and organisational strategic goals.
You will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, solid IT skills, excellent time management and planning skills, the ability to control and co-ordinate case co-ordination with a range of agencies and organisations, complete client case notes and attend regular meetings. This position is ideal for someone looking to further develop and expand upon already acquired community support and capacity building skills and knowledge. Relevant experience in the Community Mental Health sector and /or a degree in social work or minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work or other health related field is essential.
