We are the national organisation for epilepsy in Australia, and we are seeking an enthusiastic addition to our fundraising team in an Application Based Philanthropy Manager. The position is responsible for increasing Epilepsy Action Australia’s income from trusts and foundations, government sector, semi government agencies, other community bodies and corporations through application and submission based fundraising. We are a small but friendly team based in North Ryde (a 10 minute walk from the train station).

Your objectives include:

  • Identify, research and apply for new funding opportunities for the organisations products and services
  • Monitor government funding opportunities and assist with government funding applications, coordinating relations and communications with government funding bodies
  • Sustain and enhance existing funding relationships
  • Coordinate a ‘gatekeeping’ function to match available service product with funding opportunities

The successful applicant for this role will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or previous experience in a similar role. Exemplary communication skills with an emphasis on proposal and application writing are essential for this role. You will have: an understanding of the Government sector; show experience in nurturing relationships with organisations such as Trusts and Foundations; proficiency in using computers including spreadsheets and word processing; and quality research skills. The ability to take initiative and pay attention to detail will be highly regarded.
