What you'll be doing
The position provides a consultative service of clinical support to clinicians working with families and carers in Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA), including providing effective and timely interventions for families and carers. The role reports to the Family and Carer Program Manager and provides clinical supervision to two Family Workers. Duties include assisting in the development, delivery and coordination of family education and training programs for clinicians, and developing resources and programs for families and carers together with a partner community managed organisation.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant clinical field, such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and relevant clinical experience. Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Psychologist, or eligibility for membership with the AASW. Allied Health Professionals require a recognised degree in Social Work, or Occupational Therapy as well as demonstrated extensive experience at a Level 2. Clinical Psychologists must hold full registration as a Psychologist and hold a Masters in Clinical Psychology.
- Demonstrated extensive specialist knowledge and skill with regard to models and techniques to work effectively with families, in particular those experiencing crisis and complex issues associated with mental health challenges. This includes the ability to coach and provide a consultative role to clinical staff, provide clinical supervision, education, training and support.
- Ability to develop, monitor, achieve outcomes and report on strategic and business plans at both the Local Health District and NSW Health levels; and guide, engage and motivate all levels of health service staff, including the Executive, throughout this process.
- Demonstrated ability to support a small team of senior clinicians working autonomously across a large geographic area, in a complex service structure.
- Demonstrated well developed written (including using the Microsoft Office suite of software) and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills; ability to network, develop and manage partnerships and relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement and evaluation, including identifying opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, developing and leading ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff; and translating findings to policy change and development.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
