About Kogarah Community Services and the Intergenerational Program

Kogarah Community Services Inc. (KCS) is a not-for-profit community based organisation that has been providing care, information, referral and support services to the local community since 1975. From a small group of volunteers to a vibrant organisation employing over 60 staff and 20 volunteers, Kogarah Community Services continues to grow and deliver exceptional services.

KCS' Intergenerational Program is a government-funded social engagement project that brings together diverse communities including older people, volunteers and children (aged between 4 and 25) to actively promote social cohesion and bridge generational gaps. The concept of ‘purposeful ageing’ is central to this project, and activities are planned to not only be fun and socially engaging, but build social capital, engage vulnerable groups, and add value to the wider community.
