Yipirinya School is one of only a few Independent Aboriginal Community Driven Schools in Australia. It was founded by Indigenous Elders in Alice Springs, and remains under control of a 100% Aboriginal Board. The only school in Australia that teaches four Aboriginal languages, Yipirinya School has a unique history and is at the cutting edge of Aboriginal Two Way Education.
The school was created in order to address generational unemployment by providing educational services that cater for Aboriginal students facing diversity. Yipirinya School is a magnificent achievement in terms of providing a stable school environment for their students, and continues to work toward closing the gap in Aboriginal education.
Yipirinya School currently has a full-time opportunity for a Principal to join their team in Alice Springs, NT.
Reporting to the Management Committee (Board), this pivotal leadership role is responsible for implementing the School Council's policies, objectives and plans regarding governance and educational programs, in line with reporting and legislative requirements.
